Vietnamese Family Counselling Program

Culturally appropriate counselling support for the Vietnamese community in the Vancouver area on a variety of issues:

  • Relationships (such as parent-teen conflicts, parenting concerns) 
  • Life transitions (such as separation, divorce)

  • Psychological and emotional concerns (such as loneliness, depression, grief etc.) 

  • Other issues (such as drugs and alcohol, gambling, students’ poor school performance, inappropriate child discipline, communication, extended family, cultural adaptation and hardships, financial difficulties, unemployment, low income, etc.)

     

    Services include:

    • Assessment
    • Individual counselling
    • Family counselling
    • Grief counselling
    • Advocacy
    • Referrals
    • Workshops on family issues
    • Self-referral
    • Referrals from other service providers (MCFD, hospitals, schools, probation offices, employment counsellors, language centers, immigrant serving organizations, friends, relatives, mental health teams, etc.)
