“At MOSAIC, I learned everything about how to look for a job in Canada”

A Current Pespective

MOSAIC has blossomed into a $19.4 million organization with over 200 staff and 300 contractors. Services include interpretation, translation, English classes, employment programs, community outreach and development programs, family support programs and bilingual and family counselling.

In March 2006 MOSAIC kick-started its 30th anniversary celebrations with a visit from Canada’s Governor General Michaëlle Jean. The festivities wrapped up in September with Festival MOSAIC, held in partnership with the Vancouver East Cultural Centre and funded by the Vancouver Foundation.

In 2008 MOSAIC embarked on the process of accreditation with CARF; a parallel strategic planning process was initiated in 2009. With the participation of its board, senior management, staff and key community partners, the organization’s new Vision, Mission, Values and Strategic Goals were developed and adopted. And in July, as part of a continuing initiative to facilitate dialogue between policymakers and communities, MOSAIC hosted a meeting between Federal Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Canada Jason Kenney and leaders and representatives from the immigrant, public and private sectors.
